I could not recommend Zack and his team more! I adopted a very goofy and sweet Rotti/Corgi mix from a high kill shelter, it was clear early on that he had zero training/zero discipline and he brought complete chaos to the home! High energy and intelligent dog with zero training! Even though I have had dogs my whole life, this lil guy needed more than I could give him.

Memphis spent 4 weeks with Zack and his team, I received video updates on his training and could communicate directly with Zack via text the entire time.

Memphis has respect for both humans and the other pets in the household now - He no longer chases the cats, he knows all his basic commands and walking him is an absolute pleasure now - He would bark and lunge on the leash at other dogs, pedestrians etc and that behaviour has not only been corrected but I feel fully confident I can maintain the training he has learned. I now walk him alongside my other dog and when I say ‘Memphis heel, he listens!

The training is detailed and consistent, and Zack spent several hours with me upon ‘Graduation Day’ to ensure I understood everything. He has also followed up with me since Memphis came home and I know I can connect with him with any questions or concerns going forward.

Memphis is a great dog, he just knew nothing and needed skilled and experienced handling in a caring environment. I can honestly say that he LOVED his time at NextDoor K9 and I am beyond thrilled to have him settling in at home knowing myself and my husband have the skill set to continue his journey with our family - and the humans are in control! :)

My 2 year old best friend Maverick is a pitbull who turned his fear of people and other dogs into aggressive behavior. My husband and I stopped going camping and had become prisoners in our own home. We were afraid of having anyone at our home or around Maverick. After Christmas and his multiple bite attempts he had made towards our friends and family we decided to send him to zack's 4 week board and train program because I refused to give up on him, and putting him down was not an option I never wanted to consider. Zack sent me updates and videos on his progress and answered every question we had. He brought him home and spent hours with us going over commands and showing us all the tools that he had used and how to use them correctly. We took a walk. First time in over a year without him pulling or barking or growling at someone or another dog. We are going to spend forever using everything that he has learned and we have learned because he is worth it. I also cannot wait to continue working on socializing around people and dogs with the different programs Zack offers. I sent my Belgian Malinois, Indy, to a 4-week board and train with Zack for dog reactivity, and the difference is incredible. Before training, her reactions to other dogs were scary and stressful — I didn’t feel like I could safely take her out anywhere. Now I can trust her. I can take her in the car, in public, even places like the gym, and she listens to her commands so well. Zack has continued to help us work through her reactivity at home, especially in what used to be a very stressful environment for her, and he genuinely cared about her progress until she was where she needed to be. I’m so thankful — she’s like a different dog, and I finally feel confident taking her places on my own and enjoy my dog. Highly recommend!

My GSD Clyde has been showing signs of fear aggression towards people and especially dogs for about 4 years now. I haven't had a place to board him or anyone who was brave enough to watch him. With the instances we've had, I was advised for him to be heavily medicated, or quite a few have told me to put him down. Clyde was extremely misunderstood and we finally got to a place where it was time for a professional to take over. Clyde completed the 4 week boarding and training Next-door provided and came back a different dog. Zack has built trust with my dog, who is extremely selective. To the point where Clyde can be in the same room with some other reactive dogs during his free monthly sessions. The staff is amazing and walked me through the whole process before, during and still after! A question was never left unanswered and there was many! I have never seen my dog be so relaxed at home. For anyone with my kind of dog, it is extremely important to keep structure at home. Training does not solve all issues 100% but, my goodness this training has made our life so much more bearable and I couldn't recommend it enough! Next-door is one of Clyde's favorite place and Zack is Clyde's 2nd favorite person (besides me). Next-door has changed our life at home and we are so grateful!

I like to take a second to recognise Zack the owner Of Next Door K9 Solutions. Our Pup was starting to get aggressive, possessive and not able to be controlled . Training was 💯 needed. I sent my pup to two other training locations which helped to an extent, however the structure was not there, nor was control.

I reached out to NDK9S and briefly explained the situation with our Pup.

His aggression increased substantially and I was concerned for the safety of my kid and visitors.

Needless to say our Pup was boarded and after a month’s time frame our pup returned to us with a new outlook. Zack did an exceptional job with our Cane Corso.

Zack was able to spend sometime with us to help us better understand how to properly correct our pup.

He was also able to go through proper training techniques. Something that we will continue to use as long as we can, as this particular breed requires it.

Zack is proof that an old dog can learn new things! Our nine year old Australian Cattle dog has been with us for seven years after being rescued from am abusive situation. Although she has always been a very obedient dog for us, she'd never spent a night away from us since we brought her home because she was never comfortable around anyone but my husband and I. In fact she bit a few people when we first got her, so we were always nervous having her around other people. Zack's patience, knowledge and skills helped her overcome long standing fears and insecurities. What a joy it was to see her give him snuggles that she mainly reserved for me (and sometimes my husband) when she came back home after four weeks! Highly recommend Colby for dog training! We sent our dog, Bo, to Colby and Zach for a 4-week board-and-train program, and the transformation has been incredible. Bo’s main issue was reacting to other dogs, which made walks and public outings highly stressful for us. Colby worked wonders with him and sent us plenty of pictures and videos while he was there. Bo came back with highly improved impulse control, implied stay, and a much calmer attitude around other dogs. Colby didn't just train Bo; she spent a few hours to teach us how to maintain these behaviors at home when we picked him up. Bo has been been home for a few days and our walks have been much more peaceful. We can walk by other dogs now without stress and we know how to quickly correct him if he starts to get worked up when seeing another dog. An off leash dog came up to our fence while he was outside today and I was able to immediately call him into the house without any issue. We're looking forward to future group classes as well. We recently sent our 5-year-old Mini Australian Shepherd, Olly, to Zack at Next-Door K-9 Solutions for a 4-week board and train, and the transformation has been nothing short of amazing.

Since moving to the area a few years ago, the constant stream of visiting friends, family, and unannounced doorbell rings had become a major source of stress. Olly’s anxiety and overreactions made it difficult to enjoy our new home, and walks around the neighborhood were becoming impossible due to his aggressive reactions to everyone we encountered.

I contacted Next-Door K9 Solutions seeking assistance with some aggressive reactive issues my dog was showing. Zach Barkley the trainer, was very helpful in explaining the potential causes of the issues. I enrolled my dog in the 4 week boarding training. Zach came to my house to pickup my dog at which time I was able to show Zach my dog’s living quarters and explain my dog’s daily routine. After the four weeks, my dog had an excellent command of basic obedience commands … I was totally impressed. I was given regular text and video updates during the four weeks to see how he was progressing. I was able to provide feedback and re-emphasize the concerns of my dog’s issues. Long story short ….. a good command of basic obedience is necessary to be able to address unwanted behavioral issues. Zach worked with me on playing through certain situations and how to correct my dog in a positive way using various training tools. I feel comfortable and more confident on how to handle my dog when he becomes reactive in certain situations. Most importantly it is comforting to know that Zach continues to be available for training advice as I work towards making my dog a better next door K9. Thank you Zach.

This is BY FAR the best dog training place ever. My dog boogie was very bad on the leash and just simply never wanted to listen. He didn’t like other dogs or people either. I came across Next Door K9 Solutions and gave them a call. Zack is super sweet and you can tell that he genuinely wants what’s best for your dog. Boogie went away for 4 weeks and came back a brand new dog. On his drop off day Zack taught me everything I needed to know and showed me how everything works. I couldn’t recommend a better dog trainer. Zach also sent me many photos and videos of boogie durning his training and it made me feel a lot better with him being gone. Truly the best place to take your dog!!

Zack of Nextdoor K9 did a great job with the behavior modification training with my new rescue. Enzo was a 5 year old, 115lb., unsocialized Cane Corso in much need of confidence. Enzo was scared of the wind, balloons, pretty much everything, especially men. Being way past the ideal window for socialization was a hurdle that could not be helped and Zack was honest about what my expectations should be. Zack took things at the best pace possible and built a real relationship with Enzo. I was kept abreast of Enzo’s progress via daily texts and weekly videos. Zack made Enzo part of his family for the duration of his stay and even took him on excursions with his children. Enzo was exposed to many new situations and his confidence has improved greatly. Enzo is sure that the lumber carts at Lowe’s are for him to ride since Zack used them in his training.

This is going to be a lifelong process and Zack has given both Enzo and myself the necessary skills for success. For this reason I can take Enzo wherever I need to.

Since his return from training Zack has followed up with in-person sessions on Enzo’s turf which were extremely helpful. I take Enzo to work with me so Zack came to my job site to help with safety concerns. Zack is always available for questions and concerns is quick to reply.

We are thrilled that Enzo will soon be going to Zack’s for continued one-on-one training in his new daycare program. This will keep Enzo’s training fresh and on track!

100% recommend! I was at a breaking point with my dog and thought teaching her any kind of obedience was impossible. Today when we went to pick her up and go over all the training, I was fighting back tears! After she got her excitement out and Zack went over the commands and the process of her training, it didn't take long at all for my dad and I to catch on. Now that she's home she's much more relaxed and the greatest thing is that she no longer needs anxiety meds from the first day she arrived at the facility. It's obvious Dazy does miss her best friend, but this definitely won't be the last time she sees you. Thank you so much Zack! I dropped off my 1 year old German Shepherd a month ago for his 4 week training course. Just picked him up yesterday. THIS IS A WHOLE NEW DOG!!! I can't say how much more controllable and calm he is. They took him from a constantly pulling, less than obedient little monster into an an absolute gentleman (dog wise 😆). I will absolutely recommend anyone who wants to get some professional K9 training to go see these guys. So happy 😁

Zack did an amazing job with my two puppies. They were good boys to begin with but were easily distracted. After their time with Zack, they follow commands immediately and are much less likely to get distracted by the environment. They also seem to be calmer and happier in general. Cannot recommend next door K9 solutions enough. Will definitely be using them in the future.

Amazing job on my Husky/Shepard mix. His recall was non existent when he left and now he comes immediately when called. His leashed walks are now way more controlled and there is no more pulling or chasing other animals. Highly recommend Zach and will be using him for off leash training when the puppy is older.

Our trainer was Zack, he has a great disposition, extremely knowledgeable concerning dog training. Zack genuinely cares about maximizing the training of dogs in his career. Our dog is a 2 yr. Old Rottweiler named Brutus, we were having issues with him pulling when being walked, we had to give basic commands over and over, he was easily distracted, not to mention he is very strong. Zack met our every concern with his training regiment, he even asked us if he could keep Brutus 2 extra days to fine tooth the distraction issue. Our Brutus was picked up by Zack & dropped back home by Zack. He worked with us concerning pricing. They have options to meet your needs. We are extremely glad we had Zack as our trainer, our pup Brutus is easy to walk, no tugging or pulling, and he doesn't get distracted. Zack sent us weekly videos by email, and when he returned Brutus home to us he explained in detail exactly the training regiment, and he even gave us brand new training collars ( prung-collar & electronic -collar ), and explained how to use them. We're grateful that we were able to have Zack as our dog's trainer, it was the best money I've ever spent, he did exactly what we needed him to do. Thank you Zack, you're the best.

I have a 6 year old Bluetick Hound that had a bad habit of pulling when going for walks and a terrible resource guarding problem. The team at Next-Door K9 Solutions were amazing to work with and after the in-house training, my dog has done a complete 180 on behavior and she is so easy to walk now! Zack, at Next-Door K9 Solution of Eastern NC is my hero. I have had dogs all my life and now I am a senior and recently acquired a Cane Corso puppy. I really needed help with her and Zack took her for three weeks and she has developed so much with him. Our walks were more like her walking me at three months old but she is so much better after being in Zack's care. He is so nice and follows up with us regularly. I reached out to Next-Door K9 Solutions for their behavior modification training after having concerns with my 4 year old Siberian Husky’s resource guarding. I wasn’t sure if this would work for him, but I didn’t really know what else to do. They were extremely fast to reach out after submitting an inquiry. Hailey was great in answering any questions/concerns that I had and was able to get us registered pretty quickly. Being an hour away from the facility, they came to pick him up and drop him back off after the 4 weeks. Zack was awesome as well and kept us updated weekly on his progress. I was honestly amazed with the results. My boy is extremely hard headed so I wasn’t sure how it was going to go, but he is a totally different dog in all of the good ways. I appreciated the honesty as well. Zack told us that there isn’t necessarily a way to get rid of resource guarding, but rather figuring out how to manage it. When he came to drop him off, Zack gave us a thorough run down of what they worked with him on and then walked us through everything, demonstrating the process. While it seems expensive at first, it’s a lifetime of knowledge and definitely worth it.

Zack and his crew took a unmanageable dog that we threatened to sell or even give away. In two weeks he gave back a dream come true. We walk him any where and I never fear of what he might do. Use K9 Solutions!

If you’ve ever lived with a velociraptor disguised as a blue heeler, you know the struggle. We handed our dog Whiskey over to Zack at Next Door K9 Solutions and two weeks later, we got back a completely different animal. Same dog, just with manners now. Whiskey went from a chaos gremlin with fur to a well-mannered gentleman who actually listens and doesn’t treat every human like his personal pet dispenser or herding project.

Whiskey is a three year old coonhound who we found abandoned in a ditch, most likely a hunting dog. He had never been in a home. He did not know how to walk through an open door or walk on a leash. We struggled at home with behavior, getting into things, and destroying things just to name a few. On a whim, I stopped in to talk to Zach and told him about our situation. He assured me that with some consistent training, whiskey could turn these behaviors around! I was guarded, and cautiously optimistic We opted for the daily, 9 to 5 training for five weeks. Not only did Zack do an incredible job Training whiskey, he also trained our family. We have remained very consistent in what we have learned and have continued at home. Whiskey is truly a delightful puppy, easily walks on a leash and as long as we give him “project to work on,” he doesn't go looking for one! 😉 We highly recommend Zack and his team @Next Door K9.

We cannot say enough great things about Zack and Next Door K9! We have 2 Australian Shepard boys, Indy (mini) and Benny (standard) and they started to get into some serious behavioral issues with each other. We talked with Zack and got them in for the 4 week board and train program. We missed our boys so much but Zack was sending us video updates of them and their training so often! It was great to see what command training they were doing and also that they were doing it together. Zack was always giving us updates on their behavior with each other and everything he observed from them. We got our boys back with an extensive send-home lesson so we can continue everything they’ve been doing. We can’t thank Zack enough for what he did and his continued support, he’s still checking in and advising us on our at-home training.

My husband and I got a Bull Mastiff puppy (Thor) this past January and he was ready to train him but in March he was diagnosed with cancer and was not able to train him because of his health. I had my hands full taking care of my husband and the puppy. The puppy grew really fast and was around 95-100 pounds by July and it was all I could do to handle him. Zack was beyond awesome training our Belgian Malinois. He took him for 3 weeks and came back a new dog and the customer service after has been amazing. We had dealt with other trainers who refused to train Capone (our dog) saying they could not do anything to help us. Zack did more than help us and we are forever grateful for that. Highly recommend.
